Georgiopoulis

The beach at Georgiopoulis has a spring-fed river running into it, and it makes the sea water icy cold, crystal clear, and a rainbow of colors. A bridge crosses over the exact spot where the river joins the sea, beneath which tree-length seaweed sways, showing just how strong the spring's current is. Everett and I took a little hike, crossing the bridge, and walking up the coast of the beach, amidst shoulder-high thistles, to a tiny church on the cliff's edge, where beneath we watched a few snorkelers and tried to spot Daddy and Alice somewhere under the umbrellas.

Back at the beach for another swim before lunchtime.

Behind the beach taverna were fields of sunflowers and giant gourds hanging from vines.
