Space Center Houston

We told Everett we were going to see Space Shuttles and Rocket Ships. So on the entire drive there he kept saying we were going to go into space and see the stars. I didn't quite know how to tell him that wasn't going to happen, so I think I settled on "um… we'll see!" When we got there, to our delight, they had a flight simulator. We were the first ones there and the only one on the flight, so Mommy and Everett boarded the "space shuttle," the doors closed, we buckled ourselves in, and the countdown started. Even though the graphics were dated and unsophisticated (to say the least), he didn't notice. Our vessel rocked back and forth vigorously and out the front window we saw our spaceship blast-off and fly higher and higher into space. We got up into the stars and saw the Earth way down below. Just as Everett started to get really nervous, it was time to land. We had some technical difficulties  re-entering Earth's atmosphere, and we shook quite a bit, but we were able to navigate through. Finally the lights came on, the doors opened, and there we were back with Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa.
The best part about it is that Everett actually thinks we went to space. He still talks about it : "remember when we went into space, Mommy?" It's the cutest thing in the world.

Don't mistake that serious expression for unhappiness. He was just so focused on flying his space shuttle.

Poor Everett's hair is always in his eyes. Not sure who he gets that from.
