One of the best days ever

I don't remember if we specifically went out on our morning adventure to find the sheep,
but I think we might have. Although we could always hear the sheep, we couldn't always see them,
and it was hard to predict where they would be at any given time.

We walked all the way down the bumpy road, and there they were, eating their breakfast and braying.
But pretty quickly we realized they were being led out of the field and down the road
to another field, so we did the only logical thing – we ran after them!

 "Wait, sheeps, wait for us!"

Seeing them like this, you can really appreciate their camouflage.

The shepherd was so nice and seemed proud and honored to see us gushing over his flock.
He offered to let us pet the sheep, but I think we were too shy to get too close.
But we got a really good, close look at them, said hello, and wished them a good morning.

After we got back to the house and put the kids down for nap time, we headed out for an adventure of our own.
It might look like a dead end, but that's the road.
Squeeze through, take a left, and pray no other cars are coming.

---and then into the open road with nothing but rocks, mountain goats, and views as far as the eye can see.

Yes, that 45° drop down is the road to the beach. Not for the faint of heart.
We did the only sane thing, parking up top and walking down.

But even parking up top is scary when the car's tires are teetering on the edge of a 80' drop.

So beautiful.

Not totally deserted, but pretty darn close.

We stopped for lunch on the way back at a place perched so high you could see forever and ever.
It was basically a restaurant run out of someone's house. We just walked into the front door, through the living room, onto the balcony in the back where you could see for miles and miles and miles in every direction and ate an unbelievably delicious home-cooked (literally) meal.

But the best part was coming back and seeing how much fun Yia Yia and Papou were having with the kids,
just waking up, still groggy from their nap, with those cute, sleepy, after-nap voices, and ready for cuddles.
